Jars of Clay

Jars of Clay Coffee Shop offers a friendly and comfortable café environment near the Russian Market – serving excellent quality cakes, coffee and wide selection of Asian and Western food. Jars of Clay Coffee Shop provides a safe place of employment for vulnerable women (many of whom have been rescued from human-trafficking).

FNE has provided ongoing advice, mentoring and technical assistance to the Business manager of Jars of Clay Coffee Shop over a period of two years. The advice provided by FNE over this period has included strategic planning, budget controls, business model development, and marketing and workforce management issues. The business currently employs up to 20 young women, many of whom come from difficult backgrounds. Currently, FNE representatives fulfill an Advisory Board role with Jars of Clay Coffee Shop.

Currently, FNE representatives are members of Jars of Clay Management Board. FNE representatives are additionally active in assisting with mentoring of the Cambodian Business Manager – focused on a five year growth plan including café renovation plans proposed in 2011, staff and management reviews, and financial management advice. FNE is currently facilitating and supervising a six week overseas internship program (in Australia) for the Cambodian Business Manager.
